Information from a successful sperm donor
Greetings, Just information from a successful sperm donor. Although it is looked upon as a journey for future parents, the donors must each have a story to tell ? I am a mature guy , married a girl much younger, to say I had found my soul mate was an understatement. He biggest desire was to become a mother, however , being a career woman she put this on hold until her 30s ! Catastrophically my wonderful wife died as a result of a "silly" accident whilst on holiday. After the devastation of loosing my wife, I had a feeling of "unfinished Business " ? My wife should have been a proud mother, as a result of her death, the world had been robbed of our children. I became a sperm donor , just to quench this need to finish something that had been started ? Understanding the need for deserving couples but also feeling their reservations about, who is this man? How will he affect our future life? the need to want to take the gift and hide in case anything may come back to haunt them? I can say that I met 3 couples, after meeting and letting them understand my reasons for becoming a sperm donor ! I was asked if I would be their chosen donor ? I made no demands , just wanting to know they would be good parents and perhaps let me know that all was well, I would not impose on their lives at all. Now 5 years since joining , I am delighted to say we have 2 couples with 2 children and the third with one child, all fit healthy and beautiful. My relationship with the couples has grown from no expectations to that of being a dearly loved family member who visits occasionally :-) each couple have expressed their desire for the child to know their biological father when the time is appropriate, which is beautiful. I can visit and enjoy a friendship that has something very special, I can feel my need to finish unfinished business is done. Then this face book is a wonderful thing , the families post regular photographs and I can see each child is having a wonderful childhood and parents that adore them. So, it is not only the parents who benefit from this gift :-)
